Some Samsung BD players cannot play Avatar Blu-ray

Samsung Blu-ray players are facing an unusual problem of not playing the recently released Avatar Blu-ray. The issue seems to affect few models, including BD-UP5000. Avatar’s Blu-ray copy adopts a new encryption scheme and the only way to bypass is to update the firmware. AVS and CNET forums have been buzzing about it and though consumers have been assured of a future firmware update that will solve the problem, there’s no confirmation as to when the consumers can expect them.
