Samsung has finally put a date to Galaxy S’ Android 2.2 Froyo update. However, before you get excited let me tell you that this piece of info relates to the Korean version of Galaxy S (M110S) and not the International or US variants.
Anyways, a Samsung official has confirmed that Galaxy S’ Android update should take place sometime in early August and all the UI features like TouchWiz 3.0, Social Hub etc. will be integrated in the next update.
As I said, this does not reflect other Galaxy S’ update status but we can expect Samsung to make international consumers happy as well.
The update will be available via KIES.

I noticed that this is the home market version from
the I9000, and it’s using fully korean language for the phone
menu.
Is it possible to use it outside Korea?
Since i want to hv android phone that supports and have
Korean language in it?
Thank You~
kunal says
No, M110S firmware won’t work with I9000.
liki says
Ah, too bad ya…
But is it possible if i bought this phone in Korea, then
i bring it outside the country.
Is it gonna still work properly?
kunal says
@liki: No. It’s locked to SKT

@liki What kunal states – “it’s locked to SK” – is false. I have the m110s and its not locked to sk an it can be used on different carriers depending on what radio frequencies the carrier supports. The settings to access sk are practically all just on the usim card. You might find however that some carriers wont support 3g on the same banwidth so you might end up using data calls at 2g speeds or that some features dont work as well as they should which ,ight make that model less desirable in the locale youre trying to use it.

Thanks for ur reply, so if my country uses GSM 900/1800, guess it’d be OK for me to use M110S…
Which country are you from anyway? Do u find any update version difficulties?

liki~

Hi,
I want to buy Samsung Galaxy S (M110S) from south korea. can I use this mobile in India, there GSM 900/1800 is used . Also the Samsung Galaxy S (M110S) in south Korea is not showing IMEI number on pressing *#06# nor its written on the back beneath the battery. as far as I know in india mobiles should have IMEI number to work.
Is Samsung Galaxy S (M110S) not having an IMEI number in it ??
PLZ HELP !

Hi…
I have the same question as Kushal ! (above)
Trusted shopkeeper told that it works without unlocking in other countries since it’s a global product! One Philippine friend had earlier told me his galaxy S works there in Philippines.. But i’m not sure his model is M110S! I bought Galaxy S M110S recently and i too am concerned whether it will work in India or not!!
