Amid all the Galaxy S accessories announced, Samsung also launched WMG160, a Wi-Fi streaming device. The device needs a special mention because it allows your Galaxy S to wirelessly stream multimedia content to the HDTV, up to resolution of 720p. In fact, WMG160 will work with most Wi-Fi equipped gadgets supporting DLNA.
Samsung didn’t reveal any more details on the device but they did send a spec sheet about what formats it can wirelessly stream and decode.
WMG160 is currently selling on Amazon UK for about 84GBP, which means the US price should in that price range.
PS: For those who’re wondering how it works, check out the video of WMG150, its supposed predecessor that never came to the market.

What a strange media player that is limited to 720p resolution output also built in wireless is not common either.
This could be running a Samsung Arm CPU inside instead of the usual Realtek or Sigma Designs chips which power 98% of all media players on the market.
This would explain the 720p limitation, the only Arm media players on the market currently use a Telechips Arm CPU which has 1080p support.

I managed to get my hands on one of these units
A) the player is powered by a Samsung S5PV10X66 Arm CPU, cannot find the code name for the CPU in Samsungs listings so dont know what type it is might be a Cortex A8 variant. It is also running Windows CE 6.x as it’s OS.
B) The media player useless without a Galaxy S phone to set it up with, the player comes with no remote control and can only be accessed via WiFi on the Galaxy S.
You cannot use a PC or DLNA with this despite what any marketing blurb Samsung say.
