UPDATE: One of our sources hit us up claiming that Galaxy Tab will be its final name. It sure is some confusion. Maybe we’ll wait till IFA.
Some more info has been leaked out related Samsung’s first Android powered tablet. Galaxy Tab, as we know, will apparently, be called as Galaxy Pad. This piece of news along with other specs comes from a Korean source, MK.
The tablet that will be unveiled at IFA next month will run on Android 2.2 OS and feature a 1GHz CPU, 5MP camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G, 16GB internal memory, up to 32GB expandable and TFT LCD. The decision to go LCD makes sense as it would help the tablet to keep the price down.
Moreover, MK also claims that Samsung will release a 10-inch tablet in due course.

iPad killer ! : )

While the galaxy pad sounds fab, I have to say that I doubt it will take place of the iPad.
Scott says
The Galaxy Pad better come with better resolution than 800×400 pixels if it wants to outsell the iPad.

All the rumors were pointing to a Super AMOLED screen.
That would have equaled an instant sale, along with the other purported specs.
Without AMOLED it’s a total no-go for me. I would be using it outside & need the brightness.

Didn’t one of the earlier interviews with a Samsung employee already reveal that a 10″ version was on the way.
I always thought that a 10″ screen would be preferable but having played with the iPad I am interested to see how a 7″ tablet will look. The iPad was bulkier than I hoped for.
