Samsung’s dual SIM-toting phone that was launched in Sweden in June has been announced for the Indian market. The phone will be known as Star Duos and is the first dual-SIM phone supporting 3G and 2G dual-active standby.
The phone has a 3.2-inch touchscreen display and features a 3 page extended menu with TouchWiz 2.0 UI, 5MP camera with Power LED flash, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, DNSe audio enhancing technology, SNS support, FindMusic service to identify songs, Document viewer, FM Radio, 9 regional language support, 250MB internal memory and microSD card slot supporting up to 16GB.
Samsung is bullish on the dual-SIM phone market and rightly so as the recent IDC report for mobile shipments in India suggests that about 38.5 percent of sales in the last quarter were of dual-SIM devices.
Samsung expects that its dual SIM portfolio will contribute at least 25 percent to its mobile phone sales.
The Star Duos will go for Rs. 12,300.
We extremely need the facilities of “Automatic Incoming & Outgoing call recording”…, FM recording, Call Conference up to 8 members, and Push mail. Awaiting for the above features in Samsung mobiles.

usaually all phones has call recording facility I think samsung samsung should include this in their software upgrade.

Touch response is worst in the class,often hangs up and displays”end applications” though u just open the gallery.no option to minimise the applications except for the google maps and 2 more applications.the only good point i felt is the camera.rest is waste.please frns be away from this stupid phone.forgot to mention bluetooth stopped functioning now.wifi connection is bad as well.unless we sit straight infront of the router browsing is impossible.if u can afford another2k please go for c8.

I agree. This phone is a waste of money. I bought it in Dakar airport and from day one the keys are block. They will work for may be 10 minutes a day and then everything is lock except the menu key. I try to change the sim in different slot but that did not change anything. I am disapointed. I called the seller but nobody answers. I advise to not buy this phone.

Samsung Star Duos GT B7722 is having the shortcoming. One can not have more than 10 groups. If each group has more than 10 contacts you cannot send to more than 10 contacts. If you have 40 contacts you have to send 4 times which is time consuming. Having spent around Rs.11,300/- without these basic features I think its waste of Money. Battery charging is too time consuming. Charge doesn’t last long as claimed by them.
Samsung technical team says they cannot enhance the group from 10 to more user groups and they say user cannot send SMS to more than 10 contacts at a time. Revision / Enhancement of software for such basic features should be made available to the users. I feel Samsung is taxing the users. I request the Samsung authorities to address the grieviences pls.

i have samsung GT B7722 mobile handset, i am used Opera Mini, UC web Browser & Bolt old and new version but unable to download any file like mp3, software through this browser, after saving file in download manager they didnt download any kb data their.
I suggest not to buy this phone.

My GT-B7722 review (Above mentioned is my previous post)
* People suffering from “resources unavailable” must not use any wallpaper, from their memory card. If you wish to use your choice of wallpaper, then you must put it on your phone memory and NOT on memory card. Also, it must be of 240X400 size/resolution in any format.
* Also, change settings to save-to-memory card, where ever possible. The more you save on phone memory the more you slow down you phone, even lot of messages can slow down the speed.
* For better battery performance, charge it with phone switched-off, at least once a month, but first let you battery completely drain out.
* You can try *#0*# for fun and facts about your phone. In fact on any Samsung phone.
* Best feature of the phone is that you can add any number to auto-reject from phone logs. So no more ex-girlfriends OR ex-boyfriends.
* If you are in Mumbai buy it from Irla near Cooper hospital, it’ll cost you around Rs.7,500 or Rs.7,800.
* I wish it had 3.5 mm jack for headphones. Only issues is that my music equalizer settings aren’t working.
By far, a very good/best dual SIM phone at an affordable price as of now.
Also, If the games were available in landscape mode just like messaging is available, it would have been nearly perfect.

You have summed up the issues with this mobile well. I’m fed up with the memory issue and the lack of firmware update fixing all these bugs and adding useful features like call recording. That’s very poor service from Samsung.
Having said that, this phone works great for features that I’ve bought this mobile.

yes, you can buy it. But the only problem is every now and then you will get message saying “not enough memory, please close come application” when you didn’t have any applications opened. The memory handling of this phone is the worst I’ve seen and it’s a major bug. Samsung has been lacklustre towards this.

We INDIANS ARE SMARTER THAN ANY OTHER COUNTRY MEN. I have used nokia n70 and n73 both imported and they are different from indian n70 and n73 so kick these companies and go for an ordinary one. I purchased one samsung 8910 i 8mpx camera phone for rs, 28500/- in november 2009 and it is still lying in service centre cas failed to connect to win xp. companies are thief’s they have to be called to courts for justice being done in favour of INDIANS and they should be restricted to sell their products only with one condition complete replacement of the product no repairs. why should we get the product repaired if it stops responding. please unite for the cause.

Within 3 hrs battery will be nill,….
3g net is slow….but that 3g is good in other set..so it is set’s problem.
Also gmail pop 3 connection cant be created..after synchronising 500 contacts will be removed…just fuck it……..

i think this is a gud mobile with such features in affordable cost, camera is good, sound is good, but the problem is not call recording facility, and hangs much time, n also no facility to go to menu while call is going on…

Two things are always troubling me since when I purchased samsungGTB7722. 1. While using google it doesn’t shows the page if it is large. 2. call recording option.
I request samsung people to kindly upgrade this and send some upgraded software to service centre as even after 1 year of launch there is still no software upgradation I found.

This mobile is awesome if you need nice pic quality and good sound.
You get 2G and 3G both in one handset. I did not feel any problem with internet connectivity and wi-fi. Bluetooth also work fine. Battery life is not so bad. Intbuilt browser is not good enuf and often says page size is too large, you dont have call recording facility which is the greatest drawback, most of the application does not support multi tasking, but still i would recommend to purchase this mobile phone to those people only who needs dual sim and nice picture quality and good sound else dont go with this phone, it would be worthless.

see the call options, you can find video call option, a video camera sign

Don’t know at what “Manhoos Ghadi” I purchased this phone.
