After delivering Galaxy S devices to national carriers, Samsung’s Galaxy S will arrive on regional carriers like U.S. Cellular and Cellular South. The SCH-I500, which is known as Fascinate on Verizon, will be known as Mesmerize on U.S. Cellular and Showcase on Cellular South.
Mesmerize and Showcase will come with Android 2.1 but will be upgraded later this year to Android 2.2 (Froyo). Other features remain the same like a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen, 1GHz CPU, 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording and flash, Social Hub, Media Hub, Swype text input, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 3.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, DLNA, GPS, and microSD card slot.
Mesmerize is set to come on October 27 for a price of $199 after $80 mail-in rebate whereas Showcase will arrive “in time for the holidays.”
