South Korea has got its first phone equipped with NFC or Near Field Communication technology. KT today unveiled the SHW-A170K which sports NFC technology and uses NFC compatible USIM.
An NFC phone is like a contactless card that can be used to make payments or buy tickets, gift cards etc. Currently, companies like GS Caltex, Lotte, Dunkin’ Donuts, Baskin Robbins and few more support NFC payments.
As for the phone features, it has a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen display, 3MP camera, Bluetooth 2.1, T-DMB and GPS.
