Just as promised U.S. Cellular has started selling Samsung’s fastest selling Android smartphone. The Mesmerize aka Galaxy S is now available to subscribers for just $199 after an $80 mail-in rebate. Although it will ship with Android 2.1, the latest Froyo update will be made available in coming weeks.
To rehash, Mesmerize has a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 3.0, Social Hub, Media Hub, Swype, DLNA, GPS and microSD card slot.
