So you thought running a Galaxy S device with 1.2GHz was fast? Well, smart folks from Team Whiskey have pushed this limit to a whopping 1.6GHz. They managed to achieve this feat on Samsung Vibrant (T-Mobile) and have expectedly seen significant improvements. In addition to the increase in the clock speed, the team has managed to unlock the frame rate cap, which now gives about 90 frames per second as compared to previous 55-60fps. Moreover, the phone clocked 3083 Quadrants which is more than half of what Nexus One with Android 2.2 clocked.
The mod is still in alpha stage but if you can’t wait to give your Vibrant a speed boost, you can head over to the link below. Team will subsequently release the fix for other Galaxy S devices as well.
