Samsung Electronics has announced that they’ve sold 820,000 smartphones in South Korea in the month of October, capturing a market share of 43.2 percent in the smartphone arena. Although the market share is impressive it is low by Samsung’s standards who had maintained a 50 percent plus market share since December 2009.
Samsung also confirmed cumulative sales figures of its Galaxy S phones. Since its launch SKT’s Galaxy S has managed to sell about 1.6m units whereas Galaxy U and Galaxy K have accounted for 200,000 units. Samsung is expecting to reach 2 million Galaxy units soon.
On the non-smartphone side, the Corby series sales have surpassed 1.6 million units, SHW-A130 sales of 570,000 units and Nori Series phones managing to sell 370,000 units.
