Samsung UD 3D TV

Samsung has clinched another world’s first title with the development of a 70-inch LCD panel that uses Oxide Semiconductor technology and supports 3D Ultra Definition (UD) with 240Hz refresh rate.

The use of oxide semiconductor technology over the conventional silicon-based TFT tech allows the TV to support 8m pixels resolution (3840×2160), which is four times more than the full HD resolution.

Samsung says the next-generation display could support a refresh rate of 480Hz with improved 3D glasses.

The display will be on showcase at FPD International 2010.
