Samsung has announced that they’ll help Cellular South deploy its 4G network using the Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology. The agreement between the two companies includes Samsung providing necessary infrastructure and also design and launch two LTE-enabled smartphones that will go on shelves by end of 2011.
While we don’t have any more details on the phones, Samsung did say that Social Hub and Media Hub will leverage from LTE, hinting the new phones will have those features.
Cellular South is pleased to partner with Samsung Mobile on an LTE solution that uses all of our spectrum in the lower 700 MHz band. This network will deliver a first-class LTE experience to our customers who want the freedom to access content and services and to communicate in new and innovative ways, whether it’s viewing video, listening to their favorite music, gaming or social networking.
