Samsung has announced that its HDTV-centric Samsung Apps store has surpassed 1 million app downloads. The platform, which has been in existence for less than a year hosts about 200 apps and the most downloaded apps include Hulu Plus, ESPN Next Level and Texas Holdem.
Samsung says the app store is available on more than 50 percent of its 2010 TV lineup and expects the Smart TV sales to reach 6.5 million units by end of this year and 20 million units by 2012.
Samsung has confirmed to share future Smart TV strategy at the CES early next year.
