Samsung has expanded its digital camera lineup by introducing five new cameras across the WB, ST and PL series. The cameras to be unveiled are PL100, PL150, PL200, ST600 and WB600 and are priced starting from Rs. 9,000 to Rs. 20,000.
The PL100, PL150 and ST600 are the new cameras belonging to the DualView family. The PL100 and PL150 can take pictures at a resolution of up to 12MP with PL100 having a 35mm standard lens and 3x optical zoom whereas PL150 featuring 27mm-wide angle lens with 5x optical zoom. Other features include are Samsung’s dual-image stabilization, 3-inch (PL150) or 2.7-inch (PL100) rear LCD and 1.5-inch LCD display on the front. PL100 and PL150 will sell for Rs. 9,490 and Rs. 10,990 respectively.
The ST600 is a high-end solution from the DualView range. It features a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen display at the back and 1.8-inch in the front. The ST600 also features various different shooting modes that take advantage of the front screen, can shoot pictures to up to 14.2MP and has a Schneider-Kreuznach 5x optical lens. It will retail for Rs. 19,990.
The PL200 on the other hand, is different from the other two cameras in the PL series. It features a 14.2MP camera sensor, 720p HD video recording, 7x optical zoom, 3-inch rear LCD, dual-image stabilization. Its priced at Rs. 11,990.
Finally, it’s the WB600 targeted at users seeking ultra-zoom. The WB600 has a 24mm ultra-wide angle Schneider-Kreuznach lens supporting optical zoom to up to 15x and ability to shoot pictures in 14MP resolution. Additionally you’d find full manual control, built-in HDMI connector and 720p HD video recording at 30fps. It will go for Rs. 14,990.
