Samsung has announced a Ch@t application for Samsung device owners in South Africa. It’s a Java-based application that allows users to chat for free (need a data connection though) with their contacts using the Ch@t app. However, chatting with other friends is not the only incentive it offers. Users who use the Ch@t app regularly accumulate usage points which can then be redeemed to buy airtime at MTN, CellC or Vodacom.
The app currently works only with phones running on Samsung’s bada or proprietary OS but will be rolled for Android phones as well.
