Samsung has collaborated with IBM to research on semiconductor technologies. Under this new collaboration, both the companies will research new materials, transistor structures etc. to enable next-generation process technology that will be used in variety of devices like smartphones to high-end communications infrastructure.
The researchers will work at the Semiconductor Research Alliance at the Albany Nanotech Complex, Albany, N.Y. and will also work to develop process beyond 20nm.
CMOS technology at 20nm and beyond will be showcased at the Common Platform Technology Forum on Jan 18.
