Samsung today announced their initiative to target Indian schools and colleges with its Smart Solutions. As Indian educational institutions are gradually migrating to e-learning, Samsung wants to offer a 360 degree solution that will enhance the learning experience of the student in the class as well as outside.
Samsung’s Smart Solution comprises of a Smart Classroom with a large format display, which in this case is the 65-incher 650TS LFD (you can read about it here and here), Smart Teacher and Student who’ll be equipped with Galaxy Tabs to carry out regular teaching chores like maintain course curriculum, attendance whereas students will use their Tabs to access their course material and other digital content.
Samsung says it will initially focus to tap educational institutes in 9 cities – Delhi/NCR, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Ahmedabad.
In 2011, we plan to move the IT B2B business to the next level by having a comprehensive product offering across Mobility, Display, Computing and Printing segments that should help us notch up sales of USD 100 million across the various verticals that we are targeting. The education sector should contribute around 25% to our B2B business in the Mobile & IT business this year.
