Although Samsung and Apple are competitors in the smartphone and tablet market, Apple is also its one of the biggest customers. Now contrary to the WSJ report that said the iPad 2 is already in production and will have the same display as original iPad, Daum and Korea Herald are reporting that Samsung’s subsidiary, Samsung Mobile Display could provide LCDs to Apple for iPad 2.
Apple is apparently interested Samsung’s Super PLS LCD that was unveiled in December. Super PLS LCD is superior than IPS panels as it is cheaper to produce, improves viewing angle by 100 percent, is 10 percent brighter and supports resolution to up to WXGA (1280×768).
