Samsung may use their own chips in Google TV

February 25, 2011 By kunal Leave a Comment

Samsung’s showcase of Google TV products at the CES didn’t reveal anything except the fact that Samsung is willing to support the new TV platform. Now the word from Bloomberg’s source is that Samsung may launch its Android-equipped television sets with their own chip instead of Intel’s Atom CPU, which current Google TV manufacturers use.

The exact chip to be used by Samsung is not known but Samsung’s decision to go with their own chip could be a major blow to Intel as they’re trying to make inroads with their processors in industries other than PCs.

Samsung is expected to launch a Blu-ray player and companion box with a full QWERTY Google TV remote control in first of 2011.
