At an event held in San Jose in California yesterday, Samsung discussed their strategy related to LCD panels for future tablets. As it is evident from the slides, Samsung wants to integrate a higher-resolution display in the forthcoming tablets.

Samsung’s 7-inch Galaxy Tab has a 1024×600 display that has pixel-per-inch of about 170. Going forward, we can expect Samsung to roll out tablets with a pixel density going as high as 400ppi that will allow watching movies beyond the 1080p resolution on a similar screen.

Another interesting thing to note is the improvement in the battery life. The same capacity battery that gives about 6 hours could very well be optimized to give about 10 hours in the future.
