Apple sues Samsung over Galaxy devices, Samsung considers a counterclaim

Apple Inc. has filed a suit against Samsung in U.S. District Court in Northern California claiming Galaxy devices like Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab are infringing on Apple’s patents and trademarks. The case 11-1846 says Samsung willfully infringed on Apple patents and is seeking an injunction as well as damages towards the said patents.

“It’s no coincidence that Samsung’s latest products look a lot like the iPhone and iPad, from the shape of the hardware to the user interface and even the packaging. This kind of blatant copying is wrong, and we need to protect Apple’s intellectual property when companies steal our ideas,” said Apple spokesman.

On the other hand, Samsung also said that they’ll try to answer the suit with a counterclaim but after a careful review of the lawsuit.

“Though Apple is our client, it is also our rival in the mobile market. Since (Apple) sued us, taking a legal action is inevitable. We are considering a counterclaim,” said Samsung Electronics spokesperson.

He also said that Apple has violated Samsung’s patents in communications standards.

How many other tablets are out there that all look similar to each other, and Apple’s.
How come Apple is only gunning for Samsung? Because Samsung is a major threat!!!

I think Apple need to get off their backsides and do some real marketing and selling.
Fileing law suites only drives potential customers away.
