Samsung to strip down some features from Korean Galaxy Tab 10.1?

May 20, 2011 By kunal 1 Comment

Feature-wise Samsung’s 8.9-inch and 10.1-inch Galaxy Tabs are more or less the same. However, it looks like Samsung in South Korea will try and differentiate this by removing some features from the larger-sized Tab.

According to Korean-site ETNews, the 10.1-inch Korean version won’t feature DMB, an Office editing program or an e-book reader. They’ve also seemingly got some confirmation from an unnamed Samsung employee.

It is true that we are considering removing some functions such as a DMB device but it has been decided yet as we have not launched the new product yet.

This if true, will be surprising because during the launch at CTIA, Samsung’s official specs sheet explicitly mentioned Quickoffice HD Editor to be present in both the tablet versions.

Thanks, JeonnK!

I currently live in Korea. When should I expect this product to be launched. USA Wifi tabs will launch sometime in June, well the 10.1 that is.
