Samsung today announced their Q2 results and although their telecommunications business came out highly profitable, they failed to mention the sales figure of the sold handsets. However, analysts have chimed in and the consensus seems to be the same — Samsung remains in the second spot for smartphones in Q2 2011. We don’t have any concrete numbers but analysts estimate Samsung to sell 19 million smartphones this quarter, which is 2 million more than Nokia and about 1 million short than Apple.
Samsung in their earnings said their handset shipments increased “high 10%” year-on-year, which makes the math a bit difficult as we’re not sure of the exact percentage as well as sales of feature and smartphones.
