Samsung and Apple have taken their patent war to Samsung’s home country South Korea. Last Friday, both companies presented their side of arguments in a preliminary court hearing in Seoul Central District Court. Apple claimed Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones and tablets copy iPhone and iPad’s design as well as user interface. On the other hand, Samsung backed their defense by saying that Apple is trying to “privatize the public domain and exaggerate its rights.”

The Korean giant even showed LG’s Prada phone to put forth their point that iPhone’s design is common and cannot claim any patent rights to it.

The first hearing of the case will be held on September 23.
