German court suspends Galaxy Tab 10.1 injunction for Europe, still applies for Germany

August 16, 2011 By kunal 1 Comment

German District Court that imposed the EU-wide injunction last week has suspended the injunction against Galaxy Tab 10.1. This means Samsung will be able to sell the tablet anywhere in Europe except Germany, where the ban is still enforced. The revocation came after the Düsseldorf court questioned whether its authority was applicable on Samsung Electronics that is based in South Korea. However, the ban still applies in Germany as it was directed at both Samsung Electronics Korea and Germany-based Samsung Electronics GmbH.

Foss Patents who confirmed the decision with the court, reckons Samsung has a fair chance to have their preliminary injunction reversed at the hearing next week.
