Samsung Series 5 Chromebook

Just as expected, Samsung has announced the Chrome OS-powered Series 5 notebook for South Korea. Chromebook — as it is called — will be on pre-order from tomorrow and will go on sale from August 29. The notebook runs on Google’s Chrome OS and is said to have a faster boot speed, more security and is cloud-based so users don’t have to worry about any data loss.

On the hardware front, Samsung’s Chromebook features a 12.1-inch anti-reflective display with 300nits of brightness, Intel dual-core Atom CPU, Wi-Fi, HD webcam, USB 2.0 ports, 4-in-1 card reader, a mini-VGA port, fully clickable trackpad and 8.5 hours of battery life.

The Chromebook is priced at 639,000 won.
