After releasing NC215 in few regions, Samsung has announced the solar netbook for its domestic market. Slated to go on sale from August 23, the 10.1-inch netbook sports a solar panel on the display lid that allows laptop charging via solar energy. Charging for two hours in the sun (approx. 87,000 lux) will give a run time of about an hour. Needless to say, the netbook’s 6-cell battery can be charged via the regular AC adapter as well that gives a battery life of up to 14 hours.
The TCO-certified netbook includes Intel’s Atom processor, 1GB RAM, Intel graphics support, webcam, SD card slot, Fast Start, sleep-and-charge USB port and Ethernet jack.
It will sell for 599,000 won.
