Samsung invests $70m to triple mobile manufacturing operations in India

September 15, 2011 By kunal Leave a Comment

India is one of the top 3 mobile markets for Samsung and to emphasize its commitment to this burgeoning market, Korean giant has confirmed to invest $70m in a mobile manufacturing plant in Noida, India. The investment will allow Samsung to increase its manufacturing capacity by three-fold and also increase the employee head count to 4,000.

In addition to manufacturing mobile devices, the Noida plant also houses manufacturing facilities for Flat Panel TVs and Flat TVs , Refrigerators , Airconditioners and Washing machines.

I think it is a fitting tribute to the manufacturing prowess of our Indian employees that we are looking at making our Indian manufacturing centers as global manufacturing hubs for the region.
