Samsung sells Galaxy S II for $2 in Australia to lure iPhone 4S buyers

October 12, 2011 By kunal 1 Comment

Samsung marketing ploys to one up Apple’s iPhone are not new. Last year in UK, Samsung was giving away a free Galaxy S to disgruntled iPhone 4 users and this year, they’re selling the Galaxy S II at dirt-cheap price. Samsung has rented a small “pop up” shop besides Apple Store in Australia and is selling the Galaxy S II for $2. That’s the retail price without any contract.

Needless to say, this has garnered a lot of attention but the caveat here is that the first 10 buyers of the day are eligible to receive the phone for just $2. The offer will apparently be good till Friday, which is the day when iPhone 4S goes on sale.
