Samsung stopped collaborating with RealD due to economic slowdown

November 8, 2011 By kunal Leave a Comment

RealD recently confirmed that Samsung has stopped supporting the development of RealD’s proprietary stereoscopic format. Now speaking with MK News, a Samsung executive confirmed that instead of developing a new technology, Samsung would concentrate on the existing one and work onto remove 3D glasses altogether.

More interestingly, the site says Samsung’s deal with RealD fell due to the economic slowdown in Europe and US and also the 3D TV market is in its “infancy,” which makes investing in a new 3D tech riskier.
