Samsung buys Nexus division from ITC

November 15, 2011 By kunal Leave a Comment

2020

Samsung just announced to have acquired the Nexus division of ITC Nexus Holding Company. The Nexus division manufactures and sells Cardiac STATus, DECISION Point and VYENT line of rapid test kits that helps in diagnosis and monitoring of various cardiovascular diseases.

Although the details of the deal are kept confidential, Nexus will become a part of Samsung’s Health and Medical Equipment (HME) division as soon as the deal is completed by end of this year.

This investment represents an exciting opportunity to strengthen Nexus’ technological capabilities while enabling Samsung to compete in the cardiac point-of-care testing market. We welcome the expertise that Nexus brings and believe this partnership will play a vital role in helping Samsung to position itself as a global leader in healthcare technology.

This investment is a result of Samsung’s commitment in the healthcare business. Samsung plans to invest over 1.2 trillion won in the business by year 2020.
