Samsung has announced a new color for its Galaxy S II HD LTE phone in South Korea. Painted in white on both sides, Samsung says the phone will appeal to women and the younger generation due to its clean and luxurious finish.

On the hardware front, Galaxy S II HD LTE features a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, NFC, LTE support, 8MP camera, 16GB internal memory, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 1850mAh battery.

I had a Samsung phone before.. Eww God, that plastic was awful. If I ever dropped it (which was only 2-3 times max), the whole thing would fall apart (battery door would pop off, battery would fling out, etc), it was disgusting. I’ll never buy their cheap phones again unless they start using real material.

    A $700 plastic device, hahahahahahahahahahaha

Yeah, I would much rather have a device completely covered in glass and aluminum… neither of which are prone to cracking or scratching.

Heaven forbid someone use a material that can take a large shock load and return to its original shape…

I’ve dropped my Nexus S at least 3 times, the only visible damage is a few scratches on the edges of the phone. Much better to have the door open and the battery fling out than to have the entire screen crack, which happened when I dropped my 3GS for the very first time.

Just think what would have happened if your phone was made out of just metal and glass. Shattered glass and dented metal! looks so much better than easily replacing your battery cover.

Galaxy Nexus without the Google branding (or apparently ICS)? Yeah, sure, whatever. If it lowers straight off-contract the price point a bit, why not.
