A new report by Japanese business daily, Mainichi claims that Samsung will propose a capital tie up with Japan’s Olympus Corp. In addition to Samsung, the report also mentions other companies like Sony, Fujifilm also want to form an alliance with the company.
Samsung declined to comment on the report but the tie up could make sense since Olympus is an established medical equipment maker whereas Samsung is trying to make inroads in the new business.
Samsung previously turned down the rumor to acquire Olympus’ camera business but hinted at considering Olympus’ other assets.
