USITC to investigate dumping of washing machines by Samsung, LG

February 13, 2012 By kunal Leave a Comment

South Korea’s Samsung and LG will be investigated by U.S. International Trade Commission over the alleged dumping of washing machines in the United States. The petition was put forth by Whirlpool Corporation last year who claimed the large residential washers from Korea were violating antidumping laws.

The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has made affirmative determinations in its preliminary phase anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations concerning certain large residential washers from Korea and Mexico.

Large residential washers are termed as machines with a cabinet width (measured from its widest point) of at least 24.5 inches (62.23 cm) and no more than 32.0 inches (81.28 cm) and are used in a “single family dwelling.”
