Samsung S Pen SDK 2.0

Samsung has just released a new version of S Pen SDK. The S Pen SDK will allow developers to take advantage of S Pen input used by the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note 10.1. The version 2.0 adds some nifty features like SCanvasView class to enable animated drawings and record/play audio files, SAMM (Samsung Animated Multimedia Messaging) support, stroke and segmentation rendering improvement and more.

Samsung will showcase the SDK today at MWC Developer Day.

Interested developers can download the SDK along with some samples from the link below.

Nice. This is a very interesting concept. Samsung should try making the stylus experience more pleasant. I did notice some LAG in Note 10.1 videos. Maybe the software is still in Beta. But if they do it right and make it perfectly smooth, this stylus/S-Pen alone would give them a big chunk of the tablet market share. Look at it as a perfect differentiation from the crowded market. People will forget about specs if you can show that the Pen works PERFECTLY and there are softwares you can use to make good use of S-Pen.
