Samsung will only sell LED TVs in China

Samsung will stop selling LCD TVs in China, according to a report by Yonhap. The South Korean company is expected to stop selling all LCD TV products and sell LED TVs in a bid to “distinguish” themselves from cheap Chinese manufacturers.

The move makes sense as Samsung’s television revenue in China comes majorly from sales of LED TVs (about 70 percent).

The TV market in China is ruled by domestic manufacturers while Samsung holds just 7 percent of the total market share.
