Samsung enhances Face Unlock with blink-recognition for Galaxy S

March 29, 2012 By kunal Leave a Comment

Samsung today released the Value Pack upgrade for Galaxy S users in South Korea. This update is based on Android 2.3 but adds some features present in Android 4.0 like Face Unlock, Snapshot, Photo Editor etc. Face Unlock is one of the features that scores on the cool factor but loses when it comes to securing the device. With that in mind, Samsung has improved the said feature for the Galaxy S firmware.

The Face Unlock adds blink recognition restricting users to unlock the devices with a photograph.

Interestingly, this blink recognition seems to be missing from Galaxy S II that runs on Android 4.0 OS. However, we won’t be surprised to see Samsung integrating the same in future Android 4.0 builds.
