Samsung UHS-1 16GB microSD card

Samsung has announced that they’ve started mass producing UHS-1 microSD cards that are apt for today’s high-end LTE smartphones and tablets. Samsung says the mass production of the 16GB card began late last month and the card adheres to the specifications laid by the SD Association.

The 16GB memory card uses 20nm-class 64Gb chip with toggle DDR 2.0 support and an advanced Samsung controller.

As for the speeds, the UHS-1 microSD card can achieve a sequential read speed of up to 80MB/s, which is about 4 times faster than the current breed of microSD cards.

Samsung has also confirmed to release high capacity UHS-1 microSD cards later this year.
