Samsung USA asked to stop airing 3D TV comparison ads

April 6, 2012 By kunal Leave a Comment

National Advertising Division, an independent advertising review body has asked Samsung America to stop airing comparison commercials for their 3D TVs after a complaint lodged by LG last October. The ads depicted Samsung’s active shutter 3D technology were superior to the passive 3D tech used by LG.

Samsung says they’ll withdraw the ads voluntarily but maintained that their 3D technology is still superior, which was backed by evidence handed over to NAD. However, NAD claimed that most consumers won’t be able to tell the difference and would rather mislead them.
