Samsung’s holding up a fairly large event on May 3 in London to unveil its Galaxy S III phone. And now, a new report by BGR claims that the Samsung’s Galaxy flagship will be the official device for the 2012 Olympics.

Apart from this little tidbit, the site also says that Samsung is planning to hold simultaneous unveiling events in New York, Seoul and Dubai, emphasizing its intentions to launch the device simultaneously in most markets.

As for the specs, the device will purportedly have 1080p HD display, quad-core Exynos CPU, 8MP full HD camera, 4G LTE support, 16GB or 32GB internal storage, NFC and color options of blue/black and white.
