Samsung acquires mSpot to enable cloud-based multimedia content

May 10, 2012 By kunal 1 Comment

Samsung yesterday confirmed to acquire San Francisco-based mSpot Inc. While the monetary transaction involved was not disclosed, Samsung will acquire the “full scope of technology, assets and human resources under mSpot.”

The acquisition of mSpot will enable Samsung to provide cloud-based multimedia content like streaming of movies and music to Samsung device owners.

mSpot shares our vision to bring a best-in-class cloud and streaming entertainment experience to consumers, and they’ve backed it up with innovative technical solutions from a great engineering team.
