20nm 4Gb LPDDR2

Samsung has confirmed that they’ve started mass production of 20nm-based 4Gb (gigabit) LPDDR2 Mobile DRAM that will help reduce processing times for high-end smartphones and tablets. Samsung says with the new fabrication process, the chips reduce the overall size while retain a similar performance to a 30nm chip.

In comparison to four 30nm-based 4Gb chips (2GB) package , 20nm-based 4Gb chips achieves a transmission speed of up to 1,066Mbps while lowering the power consumption and shaving off the thickness by 20 percent.
