JK Shin hints at cross-licensing to settle Apple patent lawsuit

JK Shin

Samsung Mobile’s head JK Shin has hinted that the ongoing patent war with Apple could end when both companies will sit together today and tomorrow in a San Francisco courthouse. Shin reckons “there is still a big gap in the patent war with Apple” but they still have “several negotiation options including cross-licensing.”

CEOs and general counsel of both the companies will attempt to negotiate a settlement that will be presided over by a magistrate.

About couple of months back, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook hinted a similar thing and claimed patent lawsuits as “necessary evil” for a business.
