Samsung has announced Cloud Gaming for its Smart TVs that utilizes Gaikai’s cloud gaming service. Advantage of cloud gaming is that it brings graphic intensive games to the TV sans the requirement of a special hardware aka gaming console. In short, graphics processing is handled by Gaikai on the cloud while the user gets a stream of the game.
Working together we are proud to bring the biggest blockbuster video games straight onto Samsung televisions, significantly adding to the value of the Smart TV platform, as well as giving digital consumers an entirely new way to try and buy video games from the convenience of their living rooms.
Samsung Cloud Gaming service will be supported on 7000 Series and up 2012 Smart TVs and will allow to launch games directly from the Smart Hub interface. Samsung will soon begin accepting beta signups for Smart TV owners in United States.
