Samsung LCD Plant suffered a brief power outage

June 15, 2012 By kunal Leave a Comment

Samsung’s LCD plant located at Tangjeong was hit by a power outage last night. Although the outage lasted for just 10 minutes, Samsung Display is estimated to face a loss in millions as the panels produced during that period are rendered useless.

Four lines at the plant were affected that produced a combined monthly output of 320,000 large-sized panels for TVs and monitors.

The outage apparently occurred due to a Korea Electric Power Corp. worker’s mistake at the electricity substation connected to the LCD production line.
