Chinese Officials Say No Child Labor Violation at Samsung Supplier’s Factory

August 13, 2012 By kunal Leave a Comment

A report by China Labor Watch last week alleged Samsung supplier HEG Electronics Co. Ltd. of violating labor laws by employing underage workers. This led Samsung to carry out their independent investigation and even the officials in Guangdong province stepped in to validate the claims. Now a statement has been released by the government officials saying the seven workers named in the report are over China’s legal working age which is 16. Furthermore the investigation did not find the claims of excessive working hours and low wages to be valid.

HEG Electronics processes Samsung products like mobile phones, DVD, MP3 players etc.
