Samsung and German-based Osram AG confirmed to have reached a settlement related to all ongoing patent lawsuits. The agreement will enable both the companies to dismiss the suits filed in South Korea, US and Germany and allow to use respective LED patent portfolios. Furthermore, both companies will look into the possibility of jointly developing LED-based products in the future.
With the patent suits now behind us, we look forward to building a strategic relationship with OSRAM on a number of different fronts. We believe the two companies now have an opportunity to significantly contribute to the LED industry and offer better products to our customers.
