Just as expected, Samsung announced the ATIV range of devices based on Microsoft’s Windows operating systems. The ATIV S runs the latest Windows 8 and features a nice design with a brushed aluminum finish at the back.
On the hardware front, ATIV S supports 1.5GHz dual-core processor, HSPA+ 42Mbps support, 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display, 8MP main camera, 1.9MP front-facing camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, expandable memory slot and 2300mAh.

ATIV Tab on the other hand, is a 10.1-inch tablet running Windows RT. For the uninitiated, Windows RT is the Windows 8 variant for ARM-based chips. As for ATIV Tab’s hardware, it is also powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, HD LCD (1366×768), 5MP and 1.9MP cameras, micro HDMI, USB 2.0 port, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Wi-Fi, microSD card slot and 8200mAh battery.
UPDATE: Qualcomm reached out to us confirming that both these ATIV devices are powered by Snapdragon processors. Samsung ATIV Tab uses S4 APQ8060A whereas the ATIV S is powered by S4 MSM8260A.
