Verizon has expanded its Android lineup with Samsung’s Galaxy Stellar. Verizon will start selling the phone from Sep 6 for free on contract and given the asking price, Galaxy Stellar is decently spec’d.
Galaxy Stellar runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and supports 4G LTE that promises a download speed of up to 12Mb/s. The processing is handled by Qualcomm’s dual-core Snapdragon 1.2GHz processor and features 4-inch WVGA display, 3.2MP rear-facing camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, microSD card slot up to 32GB and is Samsung SAFE certified for business use.
Galaxy Stellar also comes with dual interface option – Starter Mode and Standard Mode. Starter Mode features a simple home screen display with preset widgets such as Favorite Apps, Contacts and Settings and a quick dialer icon whereas Standard Mode tries to give a more conventional Android experience.
The phone will sell for free after a $50 mail-in rebate on 2-year contract.
