We saw Samsung showing off the 840 Series SSD at the IFA 2012 earlier this month and now they’ve officially announced the 830 Series successor. The new series will come in two variants – one with a regular moniker meant for general consumers and the 840 Pro for advanced users. Samsung says the SSD’s quality performance is due to its MDX controller that ensures improved speeds and durability.
The 840 Series SSDs support 6Gb/s SATA interface and the Pro version achieves a 100,000 input/output per second (IOPS) for random read and 90,000 IOPS for random write, which is about three times better when compared to a conventional hard drive.
The 840 Series SSD will sell from October.
